Getting to our show at the Canopy Club this past weekend was full of many more trials than initially anticipated. When we were about an hour away we noticed that the battery light turned on upon the dashboard. In addition to this, the battery meter started to decline in volts. So, we deduced that the alternator in our beloved van had stopped working. We were able to drive ourselves to about 30 miles outside of Urbana and at that point the battery was drained to the point that the power steering and the brakes were not working so well. So, we pulled to the side of the road. Luckily for us, Nick was driving separately so we called him up and asked him to purchase a new battery for us in hopes that it would get us to the show. At this point in time the heavens had not yet opened up, but when Nick finally got there with the battery the sky decided that this would be the perfect time to start pouring. In addition to this, when we went to put the new battery in we discovered it was in fact not the right battery. So we had to wait for Nick to go and get the proper battery, and that is why we were late to our Canopy Club show.
